It has been quite a while since the last blog and a lot has happened since then. I will just let the pictures tell the story along with some short text to go along with it. It has been a pretty good season so far. These are just a few of the many adventures and hunts that have taken place in the last few months. More to come when I get more pictures and some more stories.
First off is the stud of a buck that Travis shot in the middle of November, and awesome buck pushing the 170 inch mark! And get this, he shot him at a crazy distance of 5 yards! Actually right under the stand that Liz was sitting in on the opposite side of the same tree Travis was in. He has a least one trail camera picture of this buck in velvet. Congrats to him on great buck!!

Next on the list is a big doe that Brett was able to take with his bow in late November. I was lucky enough to be in the blind with him and Jill on that hunt. Here is what happened in Brett’s own words… “Finally some success! I arrowed this mature doe at 25 yards, out of a homemade grass blind placed at a pinch point between bedding and feeding areas. This was my first deer harvested from a blind and let me tell you it’s just as fun and exciting as hunting out of a tree. The only thing better than finally bringing one down, was sharing the moment with my sister and cousin. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come because I still got a buck tag burning a hole in my pocket!!!!!!!!” Congrats to him on a tasty doe and a great shot!!

A friend of TSO Aaron Poe has been doing some hunting with my dad and I this season on some of his places. So once rifle season came in we kept at it and this time we decided to hunt one of our places that evening. That turned out to be a good choice. At last shooting light my dad who was hunting a few hundred yards away from Poe and I actually saw this buck and tried to move and get a shot on it but only spooked him in our direction. It was quick but Poe was able to make a nice 90 yard shot on the buck and he went about 50 yards leaving a very good blood trail. We scored the buck at 140 1/8, not to bad for his first buck huh. We have 5 trail camera photos of this buck from this season and he was the biggest one we had pictures of in the area. Congrats to him on a great trophy!!

Like I said more pictures and stores to come in the near future. Merry Christmas and a happy near year to you all and be safe! And don’t forget to SLAY EM!
